About Me
A little bit about me...
My name is Courtney and I am a 28 year old living on the east coast of America. I am a student of astrology and plan to refer to myself as such for the rest of my life. Astrology is the longest studied subject in human history and it would take me my entire life (plus some) just to read all the material available on the subject and that's not even factoring in the advancements and growth astrology is currently experiencing. There is never a point in which I will run out of things to learn about this topic so I ask you that you have patience and grace with me and my practice as we go on this never ending adventure together.
Some other labels that are important to my identity are: I am queer. I am autistic. I am a survivor. I am an artist. I am a cat owner. I love to cook. I snowboard. None of these labels will ever eclipse the fact that I am presented to the world as a white woman. This is the identity that defines my experiences in life the most considering we live in a time where White Supremacy is the prevailing global system at hand. My race is the filter through which I interact with the world and it has been my goal for several years now to focus on ancestral veneration, anti-racist work, and decolonization. This being said these goals and my identity as a white woman will be present throughout my practice as I attempt to use astrology to help me heal and evolve as a person. I once again ask for patience on this healing journey as I will make mistakes and I will get things wrong. I am committed to the path that is in front of me so I will never step back from accountability and opportunities to grow and learn. I hope others reading this page never step back from the chance to explain to me or point out errors or misunderstandings I may have about these systems and other cultures I am attempting to understand.
A little bit about my practice...
I have currently been studying astrology since 2019 and consider myself a Sidereal astrologer. Sidereal Astrology is the one of the major astrology systems that exist in the world and while Tropical Astrology does remain the current popular system in Western culture I have always been drawn to Sidereal. Both systems of astrology are valid in practice and can yield amazing results from their techniques, that being said on this page we will be using Sidereal Astrology specifically the Fagan- Bradley Ayanamsas. If you decide to do your own astrology research, you may come across Vedic astrology, which is a branch of astrology that uses the same timing system as Sidereal Astrology but is grounded in Hinduism. Please be aware I am not a Vedic astrologer as I have no background in Hinduism and could never understand the complexities of the material without proper introduction to the formal religion.
Every astrologer uses and practices astrology in their own unique way. My practice of astrology is built to help me understand the world around me, the energies that are available to me at any given moment, and how to most efficiently use these energies to move through life in a way that is aligned with my Spirit and values. I am not a love and light astrologer. If you are looking for a lighter astrology experience I suggest that you go find another astrologer. My practice will always exist to challenge myself and to help me and those around me flourish and find peace both internally and externally.
A little bit about how to interact with this page ...
For 2024 my focus will be on writing over on my Patreon. I plan for this website to be fully up and functional by 2025 with open bookings. My goal is to create an easily accesable space for indivduals to learn astrology so that they may find freedom and understanding in their lives. I hope to empower people to understand their own birth charts and the basics of astrology so they can become their own astrologers.
